Cambodian Students Association in Japan (CSAJ) would like to express its sincere appreciation to Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) and Japan Alumni of Cambodia (JAC) for their cooperation in organizing the 2012 CSAJ Essay Contest to be held in Phnom Penh, on Sunday August 26th, 2012 at CJCC.

The above selected top ten finalists are required to make final presentation in Phnom Penh at on Sunday August 26th, 2012 at CJCC from 14:00 to 17:00.

The top ten finalists have to make the final presentation within 10mns regarding their written essays in front of the final jury. The top three winners will be selected for gold, silver and bronze medal on the same day after going through the Q & A oral presentation. Final contestants are required to send in their power point slides to 2012 CSAJ Essay Contest Coordinator via csaj-essay-contest-2012@csaj-khmer.orgby Thursday August 23rd, 2012.

Final contestants are allowed to invite their family/relatives or friends to join the final presentation on Sunday August 26th, 2012 at CJCC in Phnom Penh from 2pm to 5pm. Each final contestant has to report the number of invited people to the 2012 CSAJ Essay Contest Coordinator via csaj-essay-contest-2012@csaj-khmer.orgby Friday August 24th, 2012.

After the awarding ceremony, the top tent finalists including the three winners together with the final jury of the 2012 CSAJ Essay Contest will be invited to attend acongratulation dinner at the designated restaurant in Phnom Penh to be hosted by CSAJ 2012.

Cambodian Students Association in Japan (CSAJ) would like to announce our annual Essay Contest for the year 2012. The CSAJ Essay Contest aims to further engage Cambodian youth on issues of social and personal development and allow them to voice their concerns and solutions publicly. We would like to hear your views on one of the following questions:

  1. What is your dream? And what kind of problems have you faced to come to where you are nowadays? How have you resolved those problems and planned to realize your dream?
  2. Why volunteering matters in social development in Cambodia? Justify and support your points of view using specific examples, case study or personal experiences.
  3. Does ASEAN community matter to you as an individual? Why or why not? Justify your standpoint. 

Eligibility:

  1. CSAJ Essay is open exclusively to high school/university students in Cambodia.
  2. Participants must not be over 23 years of age as of August 25th, 2012
  3. Must be Cambodian national residing in Cambodia.
  4. Previous contest winners are not eligible to apply.

How To Submit:

Submit your essay by July 31st, 2012 and send it to csaj-essay-contest-2012@csaj-khmer.org. Please write ‘2012 CSAJ Essay Contest’ in the subject line, no later than 5:00 PM.

 

Winner Awards

  • 1st place - $200 and Gold Medal,
  • 2nd place - $150 and Silver Medal,
  • 3rd place - $100 and Bronze Medal, 
  • 07 shortlisted finalists - $50.

Each finalist will receive a finalist certificate.
